The Ladoga vehicles, initially developed under the codename Debut, are specialized evacuation armored vehicles. They were created for the needs of the highest political and military leadership of the USSR.
About 4-5 examples were built. The Ladoga is based on the hull of the T-80B tank with components developed for the T-80U tank, including the GTD-1250 gas turbine, which generates 1250 hp.
The use of such a powerful engine allows the 42-ton machine to reach 70 km/h off-road and up to 110 km/h on paved roads. The operational range is 350 km.
The vehicle is armored but not as heavy as the MBTs. It does not have composite armor, only steel armor. Additionally, the interiors of the driving and passenger compartments are protected from radiation.

The vehicle is equipped with a high-pressure and filter ventilation system for defense against weapons of mass destruction. Under conditions of operation of weapons of mass destruction, Ladoga can operate for 48 hours.
One of the Ladoga vehicles was used during the liquidation of the consequences of the disaster at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. There, the vehicle was used to check the level of contamination.
