US moving 'additional assets' to Middle East, according to defence official
A Pentagon defence official has revealed the US is “moving additional assets” to the Middle East.
The move is to “bolster regional deterrence efforts and increase force protection for US forces,” according to the defence official.
US correspondent Mark Stone said no further detail has been provided by officials.
“They’re confirming what the White House has suggested earlier on today that force protection and America’s posture in the region has changed,” Mr Stone said.
