Sky News can reveal the US is backing Australia’s bid to crack the quantum code.
A University of Sydney project has received American government funding as it attempts to fix an issue preventing a technological revolution.
The researchers are aiming to stop an issue which has plagued science and technology experts for decades – how to stop quantum computers from making regular mistakes.

“If we can’t do this, we’re not likely to see quantum computing,” said University of Sydney Nano Institute Professor Stephen Bartlett.
“It’s an opportunity for us in Australia to really be at the forefront of exploration in quantum error correction.”
