ESPN’s College GameDay will be in the building for a massive Big Ten women’s basketball showdown next weekend.
The Worldwide Leader announced this morning it will be in Iowa City for next Sunday’s showdown between Caitlin Clark and the No. 4 Iowa Hawkeyes and the second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes, led by Jacy Sheldon and Cotie McMahon.
The top-five clash will be a rematch of Ohio State’s 100-92 win over Iowa in Columbus on Jan. 21.
Ohio State enters today’s game against Maryland in the midst of a 13-game winning streak. The Buckeyes sit atop the Big Ten with a 23-3 overall record and 14-1 mark in conference play.
Sheldon (17.9 points and 3.5 assists per game on 51.1% shooting and 37.3% from three-point range) and McMahon (14.1 points and 6.5 rebounds) are OSU’s big guns, with Taylor Thierry, Celeste Taylor and others providing critical support.
As for the Hawkeyes, they’ve lost two of their last three games but are still 23-4 overall and 12-3 in conference. Clark (32.4 points, 7.0 rebounds and 8.5 assists) is the main attraction, but Hannah Stuelke and Kate Martin are both major factors in their own right.
Iowa and Ohio State will tip off at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday on FOX.
