(WHTM) – Local teacher and Army veteran Bob Forbes says his team will not collect the necessary ballot petitions to appear on April’s Democratic primary ballot for the 10th Congressional District.
“We had a great candidate but you also need a path to victory and we do not have one,” said Forbes on X Monday afternoon. “Best of luck to everyone who continues and it’s back to the classroom.”

Forbes entered the race in October touting his military experience as a retired Army sergeant.
Six other Democrats have filed statements of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission: businessman John Broadhurst, veteran Rick Coplen, Harrisburg City Councilwoman S
, former WITF executive Blake Lynch, veteran Mike O’Brien, and former television anchor Janelle Stelson.As of 5 p.m. on February 12, only Daniels, O’Brien, and Stelson had filed their petitions to appear on the ballot. Congressional candidates must submit petitions with 1,000 signatures by 5 p.m. on February 13 to appear on the Apri 23 primary ballot.
Incumbent Republican Congressman Scott Perry filed his petitions this week.
