Tamil -English bilingual film ‘Iruvam’ nominated for Cannes International Film Festival
The English – Tamil bilingual ‘Iruvam’ is an innovative and interactive film that stars Varsha Bollama in the lead role. The film blurs the line between movie and games and the full motion video (FMV) offers a narrative with viewer’s choice that will impact the story line and have numerous endings based on audience choice. The movie was shot in an interactive format and it has now been selected as one among the four entries worldwide for the Cannes Film Festival.
Industry tracker Ramesh Bala’s Tweet read, “@Manmargames innovative project @iruvam_ManMar has been officially selected for the prestigious Cannes International film festival “Let’s spook Cannes” event. A landmark Indian Entry in the World’s Premier Film Festival. #Iruvam starring @VarshaBollamma.”
The actress retweeted the post and shared her excitement. Her statement read, “Super super super excited for this one! Eeeeeeeeepppp!!!!”
Directed by Manoj Annadurai, the movie stars Varsha Bollamma, Sidhu Kumaresan, Shanmathi and Bala Guru. The movie will be screened at the Cannes between May 17 and May 20.
Actress Varsha Bollamma was last seen in the Telugu film ‘Ooru Per Bairava Konna’ alongside Sundeep Kishan which was released in March 2024.
