Super Eagles stars Aribo, Ajayi clash in Championship playoff semis

Super Eagles duo, Joe Aribo and Semi Ajayi, will put friendship aside when their clubs, Southampton and West Bromwich Albion, clash in the semi-final of the Sky Bet Championship playoff.

The pairings for the playoff was confirmed on Saturday following the completion of the regular season.

Southampton had already booked their place in the playoff before the final day.

West Brom confirmed their place following a 3-0 victory over Preston North End on Saturday.

The Baggies will host the first leg at the Hawthorns on Sunday, May 17.

The reverse fixture will take place at the St Mary’s Stadium on Friday, May 17.

The winner of the tie will face Leeds United or Norwich City in the final.
