Florida State finished last season at 13-1 after winning the first ACC Championship since 2014. Many believe that the Seminoles were snubbed from the College Football Playoff, but ended the season with a blowout loss to Georgia in the Orange Bowl.
On the latest episode of Always College Football, ESPN’s Greg McElroy discussed Florida State’s chances to make a run to the College Football Playoff next season.
“I look at the playoff probability for the Florida State Seminoles and I don’t think a lot of people are going to like this,” McElroy said. “I think there are three, maybe four, losable games. I don’t think they’ll lose all four, I think at worst, you lose three.
“So what are the odds of getting into the playoffs from 10-2?” McElroy asked. “I think you’re about 33%, that’s where I have the probability for the Florida State Seminoles.”
The Seminoles will have a chance to make the first College Football Playoff appearance since 2014. DJ Uiagalelei will step into the starting quarterback role for the Seminoles. Florida State signed the No. 4 transfer portal class in the nation, while also landing another Top 15 recruiting class.
Florida State will open the 2024 season on Aug. 31 against Georgia Tech at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, Ireland.
