I want to take a serious moment. The reason that I say let’s take a serious moment because. We are living in serious times throughout the world. As were we then, back in the 60s when I was 11 years old, coming to Motown. And one of the first people that I was able to meet was. Martha. Martha. Martha Wood. Listen to the songs that were halfway written that I wrote. She would keep me out of eating too much candy from the candy machine. And she would encourage me to continue to write and to study. She motivated me and just singing and just being kind to people. Here we are in 2024 and. So much has happened. But most of all. For America, Motown happened. And the spirit of Motown really was a spirit of a desire to bring people together. And then use music to do so.
