A south Dublin restaurant is appealing to all chicken wing lovers to join them for the third year running to celebrate the popular snack.
Brickyard Gastropub in Dundrum wants foodies with a love of wings and craft beers to visit them for their very own Wing Fest, running from Thursday, April 18, to Sunday, April 21.
There will be a range of flavours for those who want to indulge, including homemade sauces such as Mango & Habanero Hot Sauce and Hoisin Confit Duck Wings.
There will also be vegan and vegetarian options available.
Simon Moore, co-owner of Brickyard, said the annual event gives them an opportunity to be “a bit experimental” with their sauce offerings.
“All of the sauces are made in-house, and my personal favourite is the mango and habanero – it packs a punch from fresh habanero chillies, but that heat is tempered by the tropical sweetness of the mango,” he added.
The Wing Fest event kicks off from 4pm daily from Thursday through Sunday, and will feature beer and wing pairings, with all pints of beer available for €5.50.
Some of the pairings include Chorizo Hot Sauce wings matched with TwoSides Brickline Pilsener; Fercullen Falls Whiskey & Coke BBQ Sauce wings complemented by TwoSides Two Yards Pale Ale; and the co-owner’s personal favourite Mango & Habanero Hot Sauce wings, which should pair well with TwoSides Talus in Wonderland IPA.
Hoisin Sauce wings will be paired with TwoSides Helles Lager, while Korean BBQ Sauce wings will be matched with TwoSides Fleetwood Black Nitro Stout.
The restaurant is easily accessible from Dublin City Centre by the Luas Green line and takes roughly 30 minutes. Bookings will only be possible for groups of 10 or more.
