Shaq Slams Paul George Over How Clippers Star Deals with Failure
Shaquille O’Neal was not impressed with Paul George due to his dreadful performance in the Clippers’ Game 5 loss to the Mavericks. The NBA superstar finished with just 15 points on 4-of-13 shooting in Los Angeles’s 123-93 loss.
After the game, George spoke with reporters about how he deals with losses and failure. He seems to have a healthy approach with how he processes it all.
“You work your tail off all summer,” George said. “You train for these moments. To where, if you fail, you fail. Live with the results.”
Shaq isn’t a fan of George’s approach. The NBA legend believes George owes it to Clippers fans and the franchise to not accept defeat.
“When you’re that guy, you get all the money you get all the praise, you are expected to step up,” Shaq said.

It’s a fair argument on both sides. Basketball’s a team sport, so wins and losses can’t be placed solely on one player. However, George knows he can perform better.
The Clippers will try and keep their season alive in a pivotal elimination Game 6 on Friday night.
