Search for missing Kilkenny man, 30, stood down as body found

Gardaí have stood down their search for a missing man in Kilkenny following the discovery of a body on Tuesday evening.

The man, Edward Prendergast aged 30, had been missing since the early hours of the morning of Tuesday, 16 April.

He was last seen in the Jamespark area of Kilkenny City at 12:50am.

Gardaí described Edward as 5 foot 11 inches tall with a medium build and with brown hair and grey-blue eyes.

He was wearing a light blue top and light blue tracksuit bottoms when last seen.

A spokesperson for An Garda Síochána told the Irish Mirror in a statement: “Gardaí would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter.”
