KEMENTERIAN Pembangunan Usahawan dan Koperasi (Medac) menyasarkan untuk menambah lebih 500 kedai koperasi (Coopmart) di seluruh negara bagi membantu menangani kos sara hidup yang semakin meningkat.
Timbalan Menteri Pembangunan Usahawan dan Koperasi Datuk Muslimin Yahaya berkata, setakat ini terdapat 400 Coopmart di seluruh negara.
Katanya, konsep Coopmart diperkenalkan pada tahun ini untuk menawarkan barang keperluan yang mampu milik dan rendah bagi mengurangkan kos sara hidup rakyat khususnya golongan B40 di bandar.
“Koperasi sangat signifikan dengan Coopmart dan pihak kami menyasarkan seberapa banyak koperasi yang ada kemampuan untuk kita membina rangkaian Coopmart untuk membantu ahli dan juga rakyat dengan menawarkan harga yang lebih murah.
“Bagi membantu mengurangkan kos sara hidup rakyat, pihak kami akan memastikan sama ada koperasi masjid atau koperasi berasaskan perkhidmatan untuk dijadikan Coopmart dengan bantuan dana daripada Suruhanjaya Koperasi Malaysia dan Angkatan Koperasi Kebangsaan Malaysia Berhad (Angkasa),” katanya.
Beliau berkata demikian kepada pemberita selepas Hari Koperasi Negara Peringkat Negeri Kelantan di Aeon Mall, kelmarin.
Hadir sama, Timbalan Pengerusi Jawatankuasa Perindustrian, Perdagangan, Pelaburan Dan Pembangunan Usahawan Kelantan, Saiful Adli Abu Bakar dan Pengarah SKM Negeri Kelantan, Zainudin Mohamed.
Dalam perkembangan lain, Muslimin berkata, sehingga Disember 2021, gerakan koperasi di Negeri Kelantan mempunyai bilangan koperasi berdaftar sebanyak 939.
Ia meliputi bilangan keanggotaan individu seramai 318,195 orang dengan jumlah model syer dan modal saham terkumpul berjumlah RM412 juta.
“Jumlah perolehan terkumpul yang dicatatkan sehingga Disember 2021 berjumlah RM842.98 juta,” katanya.
