Reform UK poll bombshell as one stat reveals huge threat to Tories

Nearly a quarter of voters who backed the Tories at the last general election now support Reform UK, new polling shows.

The survey found 24% of those who voted Conservative in 2019 have switched to the Nigel Farage-linked party in what the polling company said was a record high.

Just 42% said they would back the Tories again marking the joint-lowest since Rishi Sunak became PM.

Meanwhile, 18% said they would vote for Labour and 7% opted for other parties.

Across all voters in the poll by Redfield and Wilton Strategies, Sir Keir Starmer’s party has a 22-point lead with 44%.

The Tories are on 22% and insurgent party Reform is third taking 15 in the survey of 2,000 British adults carried out on April 14.

Mr Sunak has a net approval rating of minus 24, which is down four points from the week before.

Labour leader Sir Keir has a net score of six, which is down three points from the previous polling.

Sir Keir leads Mr Sunak by 13 points on who would make the better prime minister.

The polling comes as the Prime Minister is facing an uphill battle to turn around the Tories’ electoral fortunes.

There is intense speculation over the date of the next general election, which must take place by next January.
