Pokemon Black and White Fan Designs Human Forms for Gen 5 Pokemon
- A fan called FluorescenceFuture showcases human versions of creatures from Gen 5 games.
- Each design comes with detailed lore, like Emboar as a wandering martial artist named Dante.
- Human versions of Pokemon are a hit with the fanbase, inspiring other artists to create unique designs.
A Pokemon Black and White 2 fan has recently designed 12 human versions of the Pokemon featured in the fifth generation of the games, as well as a couple of monsters from other gens. Known as Gijinka, the humanizations of Pokemon are pretty popular with the game’s community, and this fan artist did an excellent job with these 12 designs.
Released back in 2012, Pokemon Black and White 2 are part of the fifth generation of the games and direct sequels to Pokemon Black and White. All four titles are set in a region called Unova, which was geographically inspired by New York City. In total, 156 new creatures were introduced in this generation.

Now, a Pokemon Black and White 2 fan called FluorescenceFuture shared the art of 12 human versions of the Pokemon that they had in their team when playing these games. FluorescenceFuture gave human versions to Emboar, Samurott, Liepard, Leavanny, Swoobat, Crobat, Krookodile, Ampharos, Vanilluxe, Lucario, Seismitoad, and Gothitelle. While most of these Pokemon were introduced in Gen 5, others, such as Crobat and Ampharos, have been around since previous generations.
Human Versions of Pokemon From Black and White 2 Fan Art
Overall, the art of these Gijinkas looks impressive, and FluorescenceFuture even wrote detailed lore for each entry. For example, FluorescenceFuture’s Emboar is a bulky human called Dante, who wears clothes that resemble the Fire-type Pokemon and is a wandering martial artist. Liepard becomes Zoe, a woman with purple hair who uses luxurious clothes, is known as a rising star in the fashion business, and is a close friend of Dante. The other characters follow similar patterns, with Swoobat being turned into the popular musical performer Cora, and Krookodile becoming the “mafia prince” Arron, for example.

Human versions of Pokemon are pretty popular with the fanbase, and it’s not hard to find other excellent examples of fans who came up with interesting designs. For instance, last year a fan designed a human version of Mimikyu during Halloween, turning the cute Pikachu-like creature into a cute witch with a Mimikyu mask.
In another amazing art piece shared with the community last year, another fan turned several Pokemon into JRPG-inspired human characters. This fan picked creatures such as Roserade, Sawsbuck, Lucario, Gallade, Salamence, and Togekiss and devised human versions greatly inspired by the old-school Final Fantasy titles. Hopefully, the work of artists like FluorescenceFuture will inspire more artists to create memorable pieces of Pokemon fan art in the future.
