Donald Trump seriously shaded Piers Morgan (Picture: Twitter/AP)
Piers Morgan and Donald Trump have locked horns after the former US president branded the presenter ‘ratings-challenged.’
The scathing remarks came ahead of the former Good Morning Britain presenter’s interview with the governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, 44, which will be broadcast in full on Thursday.
DeSantis is widely rumoured to be The Apprentice star’s rival for the Republican presidential nomination in the US election 2024 and, in a teaser clip for the TalkTV show, brushed off insults from Trump.
But on Wednesday, Trump, who has previously called the politician ‘Ron DeSanctimonious, raged about the interview and also took aim at Morgan.
On Truth, Trump wrote: ‘While I am fighting against Radical Left Lunatics, Persecutors, and unfair Prosecutors who want to destroy us all, Ron DeSanctimonious is not working for the people of Florida as he should be, he is too busy chatting with a Ratings Challenged TV Host from England, desperately trying to rescue his failing Campaign—But it’s my fault, I put him there!’
Morgan, 57, naturally, reacted to Trump’s blistering blow, sharing his comments on Twitter and pointing out he had previously interviewed the disgraced former leader.

He wrote: ‘BREAKING: Another President Trump statement re my DeSantis interview, this time lambasting him for wasting time chatting with a “Ratings-Challenged TV host from England.”
‘That’s the same TV host from England who Trump’s been interviewed by over 40 times…’
Morgan most recently sat down with Trump in 2022, with the businessman storming off at one point, branding the presenter a ‘fool’.

The explosive sit-down drew in 400,000 viewers at its peak, according to Broadcast.
TalkTV, however, has been struggling with dwindling ratings since its launch in April last year.
In May, Piers Morgan: Uncensored hit an all-time low of just 10,000 tuning in, compared to the 400,000 that watched his debut show with Trump.
Earlier that month, Tom Newton Dunn received just 3,600 tuning in, with The Guardian claiming the programme failed to register a single viewer for half of its broadcast on Tuesday, May 3.
Morgan has repeatedly declared that TV audiences don’t matter to him, due to his programme being a ‘global show.’
Piers Morgan: Uncensored airs weekdays from 8pm on TalkTV.
