A teenager is recovering in hospital tonight after he suffered injuries in what is suspected to have been a frenzied knife attack in Co Kerry.
The victim, who is just 17 years old, was stabbed in the face, neck, arms and back in a brutal attack in the early hours of Monday morning in Cahirciveen, The Irish Mirror understands.
The attack happened in the Fertha Drive area at around 2.20am.

The victim, who is from the area, was rushed to University Hospital Kerry where he was initially thought to be seriously ill, but his condition has now stabilised.
Gardaí later arrested a man aged in his 50s as part of the investigation into the attack.
He is being held in a Garda station in Kerry under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 and can be detained for up to 24 hours.
Officers are trying to establish a motive for the attack.
