Patient Kwanele Kobo grateful to Mpengesi

Kobo has been coaching for 25 years and has played a huge role in the development.

He has been assisting the likes of coach Pitso Mosimane and many other top coaches for decades until this year.
Mpengesi gave him an opportunity alongside Thabo September, both have done extremely well for Chilli Boys.
Addressing the media following their loss against AmaZulu, Kobo says he is grateful to everyone who has believed in him and hopes to emulate other top coaches in the PSL.
”I think, firstly I really have to be thankful to the chairman of Chippa United Mr Chippa Mpengesi, and to the people who spoken to the chairman to say try out this coach, as you know I have done a lot of in South Africa football and it feels good to have this opportunity” said Kobo.
Chippa United went to Durban with a target of three points, to move closer to their own targets for the season.
Unfortunately, AmaZulu ended a good run of four wins for them, Kobo explained how this defeat delayed their objectives as a club.
The Chilli Boys have two tough games against Moroka Swallows in the league and Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup.
The former SA junior coach outlined their task in the upcoming games and the rest of the season, as they suffered injuries against Usuthu. He says against the Dube birds, their depth will be tested.
”The task now, maybe the Swallows game, gave an opportunity to see who else would be available going into the Pirates game, and I think to be safe from relegation is an achievement for us, added Kobo.
The Chilli Boys are celebrating ten years in the Eastern Cape, and the Nedbank Cup will give them an opportunity to celebrate in style.
With injuries of key players and facing Orlando Pirates in the semi-finals next weekend, the coach says it is a serious concern, which they want to forget for now until after the Swallows clash.
Coach Kwanele Kobo gave an assessment of the whole game, feeling they had mental fatigue, following the injuries of key players such as Craig Martins and Goodman Mosele.
He was proud of the fight from his side until that penalty he did not want to say much about.
