Comedian Dave Hughes drops secret drug use bombshell live on-air: 'I didn't tell my wife about it'

Comedian Dave Hughes has dropped a bombshell about his recent drug experience.
The comedian, 53, made the revelations on Monday morning's 2Day FM Hughesy, Ed & Erin show.
Dave called into the show for the Secret Lives of Sydney segment with his voice disguised by a vocoder to make the confession.
'I had an accident on New Year's Eve and it has taken a long time to recover. I walked past a medicinal marijuana shop and I ended up getting on it and I didn't tell my wife about it,' Dave said.
'I was on medicinal marijuana for a few weeks and my wife didn't know and she kept saying "you're sleeping so well" and I'm like "yeah, I am,"' he added.

Hughesy's co-host then asked the 'caller' whether he kept the drug for himself or if he shared the prescription around to his friends.
'Look, I might have given some friends and work colleagues some,' he said, before co-host Ed Kavalee, 44, interrupted him.
'They say this often, but you make me sick,' Ed replied with faux-disgust.
The voice decoder was then removed revealing the gag to the audience that it was Dave all along.
It comes as Hughesy last week claimed that his 'personal friend' Lindsay Lohan annoyed other panellists on The Masked Singer Australia.
On last Thursday morning's Hughesy, Ed & Erin, Hughes was reminiscing on his time co-hosting The Masked Singer with Lohan, 37, and revealed the Hollywood star often held up production.

Hughesy said Lohan would often turn a 20 minute break in filming into a 3 hour break on the celebrity singing show.
'There's a moment when the head comes off and whoever's under the head has to get makeup done,' said Dave.
'So then you have a little break. But Lindsay often would make that break go for 2 to 3 hours because we couldn't get her out of her trailer...what's Lindsay doing in the trailer?!' the radio host explained, before adding that he was a big fan of The Parent Trap star.
'I enjoyed Lindsay. But she annoyed some of the other judges, I think it's fair to say.'
