Patanjali Receives GST Notices, Accused of Non-Payment & Wrongful ITC Claims Say Sources | CNBC TV18
Well, the DG of GST Intelligence has sent to show cause notices, the Patanjali Group for alleged non payment of GST dues and wrongful claim of input tax credit. Well that’s right, more troubles seem to be in offering for Patanjali Group companies. Sources say that Director General of GST Intelligence has initiated detailed action against the group. Under the probe, DGDI has sent 2 show cause notices to Patanjali Group companies for non payment of GST and wrongfully claiming of ITC. The show cause notices were sent on 19th April by DGGGS Chandigarh and Meerut Zone to Patanjali Foods Limited and Patanjali Ayurved. Sources further say that DGI has separately also referred one case for alleged non payment of GST and wrongfully claiming of ITC to Uttarakhand GST authority. For further probe, when it comes to the show cause notices sent, DGGI is mirrored. Zone has sent show cause notice alleging Patanjali Ayurveda for circular trading between the period between 2018 and 2022. Here the allegation is of inflated turnover and revenue. DGI claims to have also initiated penal proceeding against the top management of the company. Apart from that on the other hand DGGS Chandigarh zone has also issued show cause notice to Patanjali Foods over alleged fake ITC claims. Via forged documents and issuing fake invoices in this case to DGI, Chandigarh claims to have initiated penal proceedings against Patanjali Foods, MD Ram Bharat. Meanwhile, reacting to the story, Patanjali spokesperson on CNBC TV 18 said that the group is clarifying on the alleged claims to board GST divisions. Let’s see what is the final outcome.
