John Anderson discusses ‘moral issue’ of Australia’s debt rising to $1 trillion
Former deputy prime minister John Anderson has discussed the “moral issue” of Australia’s rising national debt.
Australia is heading for $1 trillion of debt after the budget forecasts no more surpluses until 2034.
“One way of cutting this would be to say, firstly, there’s the moral issue … economics is not just about a sweet set of numbers; it’s about better outcomes for people,” Mr Anderson told Sky News host Peta Credlin.
