COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A Downtown parking lot could soon make way for a high-rise tower that is expected to hold over 200 apartments.
Preliminary building plans submitted by Edwards Companies to the city show that the 12-story building, which would be located at 33 S. Fourth St., is expected to feature 221 apartments. The project plans outline a high-rise multi-family building that will sit over a three-story parking garage.

If the building were approved, it would be located between the YWCA Building and the PNC Building, which recently changed its name to the Preston Centre.
Based on the proposal, the building looks slated to be called Dispatch Tower, after the printing plant for the Columbus Dispatch that was once on the site. The lot is owned by Capitol Square LTD, which formerly owned the Dispatch.

Columbus Building and Zoning allows projects to be pre-reviewed for a preliminary review process. This allows applicants, like Edwards Cos., to get answers to questions they may need answered before designing a building. Because of this, the outlined plans are subject to change based upon feedback given to the applicant.
The Downtown Commission has not yet received plans for this proposal.
