Oilers' Superstars Could Make History Tonight
EDMONTON — Tonight is the night.
After a week of waiting, the puck drops tonight on Game one of the Edmonton Oilers’ series against the Vancouver Canucks. This is sure to be a tight matchup – despite many people writing the Canucks off, the Oilers should definitely not take their opponent for granted.
The Oilers are in for another potential tough defensive series. However – two of their stars are on the cusp of an offensive milestone.

Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are both sitting at 87 career playoff points. They have both played 54 games – and either one (or both) could become the third fastest player to hit the 90 point playoff benchmark.
Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux are the two fastest players to hit the milestone – Gretzky at 43 games and Lemieux at 45 games. The third fastest player at the time of this writing is Jari Kurri at 61 games.

With both players having seven games before they have played the same number of games as Kurri – it’s virtually a slam dunk that they will hit the 90 point playoff mark before he did.
Whether it is tonight or another night remains to be seen. One thing is for certain – the Oilers superstars are monster performers when it matters the most, the playoffs.
