Bruins' Pat Maroon Shares Free Agency Wish
The Boston Bruins have many free agents heading into the offseason. One of them is 2024 NHL Trade Deadline acquisition, Pat Maroon.
Maroon, 36, was brought in at the deadline to provide the Bruins with more grit and leadership. Overall, he did just that, as he cemented himself as a great teammate early on. However, he was fairly quiet offensively during the playoffs, posting just two assists in 13 games.

If Maroon has it his way, his time with the Bruins won't be over. The veteran forward told reporters, including 98.5 The Sport Hub's Ty Anderson, on Sunday that he wants to remain with the Bruins to continue to mentor their younger players and get Boston to take that next step as contenders. With that, he also wants another chance to show the Bruins that he can be more impactful.
Maroon also had some immensely kind words to say about the Bruins organization, as relayed by The Hockey News' Joe Pohoryles:
"I had the best experience of my life, of my career, to be a part of this group, and be a part of these guys that really, truly care. And I can’t thank them enough for welcoming me and my wife, and my daughter and my son to be a part of that."
With Maroon clearly loving Boston and wanting to stay put, the ball is in the Bruins' court. If the St. Louis native is open to signing an affordable one-year deal, why shouldn't Boston keep him around?
