A man, 50s, tragically died after a fall while out hillwalking in Co. Donegal at the weekend.
Gardai, other emergency services and local mountain rescue volunteers received reports of an incident involving two male hillwalkers in the Poisoned Glen in Dunlewey, Co. Donegal at 1pm on Saturday afternoon.
One of the men was fatally injured in the fall. The other man, in his late 50s, was also hurt and was airlifted from the scene to Letterkenny University Hospital (LUH) where his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
The deceased man was originally from Derry and has been named locally as Brian Campbell.
Mr. Campbell’s body was recovered from the area and taken to the mortuary at LUH.
