New mock draft predicts Jets make blockbuster trade into top five

new mock draft predicts jets make blockbuster trade into top five

New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh.

The Jets currently own the No. 10 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and will likely be able to add a very talented player with it.

However, Pro Football Focus’s Nathan Jahnke believes New York, which seems to be all in with the return of QB Aaron Rodgers, has its sights set on arguably the most talented player in the draft.

In Jahnke’s latest mock draft, he predicts the Jets will make a blockbuster trade with the Cardinals for pick No. 4.

New York sends Arizona its first-round pick (No. 10), third-round pick (No. 72), 2025 second-round pick and wide receiver Allen Lazard in exchange for pick No. 4.

With that selection, the Jets then draft Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

“While the Cardinals need a new top wide receiver, they can also pick one a little later,” Jahnke writes. “The Jets on the other hand are all in for 2024 with a 40-year-old Aaron Rodgers. They already made one notable upgrade at wide receiver with Mike Williams, and they could use a third.”

This would be the definition of going all in for New York. Rodgers would have a wide receiver arsenal of Garrett Wilson, Williams and Harrison Jr., which would be difficult to argue against being the best trio in the league.

Wilson and Williams would have already been a dangerous duo, but adding Harrison Jr., who’s had 144 catches for 2,474 yards and 28 touchdowns the past two years, would be nearly unstoppable.

If the Jets were to make this deal, they wouldn’t be scheduled to make their next selection until pick No. 111 in the fourth round. However, what else would they need?

Jahnke further supports his idea of New York’s blockbuster deal by comparing Harrison Jr. to a taller Davante Adams, who has been arguably Rodgers’ favorite target in his 19-year NFL career.

The Cardinals may not be willing to move off the No. 4 overall pick without receiving an additional first-rounder. If so, however, the Jets may just become the most feared team in the NFL.
