FanDuel Sports Book released its early Heisman Trophy future odds with several names you might expect at the top. This includes Texas’ Quinn Ewers, Georgia’s Carson Beck, and Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel. However, the next name on the list is one that might surprise you.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are familiar with having a player invited to NYC as a Heisman finalist with Marvin Harrison Jr. representing Columbus in 2023, CJ Stroud in 2021-22, and Justin Fields in 2020. Even though he’s expected to be the next Ohio State starter, I don’t think many people expected former Kansas State QB Will Howard to be among the top Heisman contenders.
Howard threw for more than 2,500 yards in 2023 with 24 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also reignited his running game with nearly 350 yards on the ground and nine touchdowns. While those numbers might not be Heisman-worthy, one can only imagine what he’ll be able to do with the talent around him in Columbus.
FanDuel Sports Book is giving Howard 12-1 odds to win the Heisman Trophy in 2024, tied for third-best odds along with Alabama’s Jalen Milroe.
