Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa.
The Miami Dolphins 2023 season started looking like it’d be one for the history books. Then things went awry, and the Dolphins shifted their focus to 2024. With that in the past now, they’re looking to take the next step.
Let’s take a look at the Dolphins’ schedule for the 2024 NFL season, including their strength of schedule, a record prediction, and previewing some of their biggest matchups.
Miami Dolphins’ Schedule and Opponents
The Dolphins’ exact schedule is still unknown, as it hasn’t been released yet. However, their opponents are a different story. We’re still waiting for the official NFL schedule release, but until then, these are the teams they will face:
Home: Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars, Las Vegas Raiders, San Francisco 49ers, Tennessee Titans
Road: Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Green Bay Packers
Dolphins’ Strength of Schedule
The Dolphins’ schedule won’t be an easy one, as they will face a second-place schedule due to finishing second in the AFC East in 2023. However, it could be much worse. According to PFN’s in-house metric, the Dolphins have the 17th-easiest schedule in the NFL – or the 15th-hardest.
Overall, their schedule isn’t one of the most difficult in the NFL, but they still face multiple top teams and even more teams that could surprise. It doesn’t help that they have to face the Bills and Jets twice, likely with Aaron Rodgers suiting up in New York for this go-around.
Dolphins Record Prediction: 10-7
With a big season coming up, DraftKings Sportsbook set the Dolphins win total at 10.5, tied for the second-highest in the entire league. It adds +125 odds for the over and -145 for the under. This is likely due to the fact that the Dolphins are unpredictable, especially considering the injuries they’ve suffered year after year.
The Dolphins will face six teams that made the postseason in 2023, but that doesn’t include the teams that didn’t and will still pose a threat. For example, the Jaguars and Jets both missed the playoffs but are returning their quarterbacks healthy this time.
The Dolphins’ range sits at about 7-12, likely falling in the middle. If they stay healthy, they will have one of the best offenses in the NFL. If they don’t, though, things could go off the rails once again.
Biggest Matchups of the Year
In terms of big games, the Dolphins have quite a few. However, their focus needs to be on winning their divisional games. In 2023, they lost the AFC East by one game after being swept by the Bills. If they can secure at least one win – if not two – over the Bills, it could bode very well for winning the division.

Beyond their own division, they’ll also host the 49ers, who were just in Super Bowl 58. If they can take down one of the best teams in the NFL, that could be a statement that shows the NFL who they are and maybe even prove Miami as a threat to win the Super Bowl.
