Met Eireann weather forecast shows exact day temperatures in Ireland will hit 20°C but there's a catch

It is likely that some parts of Ireland will see temperature close to 20°C in the coming days but there is a catch, according to Met Eireann.
The state forecaster has identified precisely when and where is most likely to feel the warm 20°C heat but it comes with a significant caveat.
While temperatures are expected to remain in the mid to high teens for most of the week, and this is the catch, it will be quite cool during the night, with some parts of the country seeing temperatures drop to as low as 3°C on Tuesday.

The May Day Bank Holiday on Monday will see highs of 15°C but it will start to feel warmer from Wednesday onwards.
Some parts of Ireland will start to see temperatures in and around 19°C and 20°C on Thursday and Friday.
Echoing Met Eireann’s positive outlook is Irish weather expert, Alan O’Reilly. Alan, who runs Carlow Weather, told his thousands of followers on X, formerly Twitter, that 20°C will be most likely felt on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
“Badly needed improvement coming for the week ahead, cloudy and some showers Monday but very little rain after that for week and getting warmer with 20c possible by day but cool nights,” he said.
If the prospect of warm periods of sunshine wasn’t enough to get you excited about the week ahead then perhaps the suggestion of consecutive dry days will help.
“Weather models still showing an improving situation in Ireland for next week from Tuesday to Saturday it is looking warmer and dryer,” wrote Alan.

Monday night: Largely dry with clear spells developing. Remaining mostly cloudy in the northwest. Lowest temperatures of 6°C to 9°C in a light northerly breeze.
Tuesday: Tuesday looks to be a brighter and drier day with cloudy conditions in the west during the morning, giving way to good spells of sunshine. Highest temperatures of 12°C to 17°C, in a light northerly breeze.
Tuesday night: Dry with clear spells for much of the night. Lowest temperatures of 3°C to 8°C in light variable breezes.
Wednesday: Bright and largely dry with long spells of sunshine, and just patches of rain and drizzle possible in the west at times. Highest temperatures of 13°C to 19°C, in a light to moderate south to southwest wind.
Wednesday night: Mostly dry overnight with long clear spells, along with some showers in the northwest spreading eastwards. Lowest temperatures of 7°C to 11°C, with light to moderate southwest breezes.
Thursday: A largely dry day with isolated showers over the northern half of the country. Likely mostly cloudy too with the odd sunny spell. Highest temperatures of 16°C to 19°C, with light variable winds.
