Ever since Holly Willoughby’s shock departure from This Morning there have been big shoes left to fill – and the next person up for the job is Sian Welby.
While Irish viewers may not be familiar with her, Sian, 37, is a ‘rising star’ in the UK and has already made regular appearances as a reporter on This Morning.

She has been named as the next temporary replacement for Holly after Cat Deeley turned down the job and will host the show next week alongside Dermot O’Leary, MailOnline reports.

Career in radio
For her day job, the radio presenter from Nottingham co-hosts Capital Breakfast alongside Roman Kemp and Chris Stark. She presented her own show on Heart radio from 2017 until she moved to Capital FM in 2020.
Sian has also appeared on This Morning as a showbiz reporter and presents segments including ‘Sian’s What To Watch List’, where she gives a roundup of her best television and movie picks.
She has over 143k followers on Instagram and is well-known for being the face of the BBC One social channels where she was the face of their Snapchat account.

Sian is currently in the midst of wedding planning after getting engaged to her radio producer boyfriend Jake Beckett in August She revealed at the time that she wasn’t expecting the proposal at all and ‘didn’t think it mattered’ until he popped the question.

Sharing a selfie showing off the engagement ring, Sian wrote: ‘On Tuesday I thought we were just going on a boat trip!! Genuinely didn’t see this coming. For once I am totally speechless. I didn’t think it mattered until he asked me, and then suddenly it meant everything.’

Sian was delighted to confirm that she’ll be presenting alongside Dermot O’Leary while standing in for Holly.
‘I’m going to be sitting next to this legend [Dermot] doing This Morning! Very surreal,’ she gushed on Instagram. ‘Obviously excited but also quite nervous!! I have to say the whole team have been incredibly supportive and I know I’m in good hands with Dermot O’Leary – what an incredible opportunity. It hasn’t really sunk in yet.’
