cup-tiramisu
Tiramisu is a heavenly dessert that combines soft layers of ladyfingers with the bitterness of coffee and the sweetness of cream – a perfect flavor combination. However, it’s not exactly a dessert we often think of as a single-serve or one that we would prepare as a late-night snack.
That’s why most of us rarely prepare it for ourselves. However, you might start making it often once you discover this unique and ingenious hack.
Check out this April 1st video to see this clever trick.
I like everything about Alex’s (@mutammara) fun concept. It eliminates the need to wash extra dishes using a hand mixer or blender. Plus, if you’re making it as a late-night snack, it doesn’t make any loud noises. It’s also an excellent option for camping, dorm rooms, or beach trips because you can enjoy a whipped dessert topping without electricity.
Making Blender Bottle Tiramisu
Who knew these blender bottles could do more than mix protein powder? This is so smart! He adds honey for sweetness and then shakes it with the heavy whipping cream. He reports, “Every time I make it, there’s a point where I think I should give up. Once you reach that point, it’s probably three more minutes of shaking.” Ha! That’s good to know. As a bonus, it’s a little extra calorie burn before the indulgence. When it is ready, it will be nearly silent, and we will no longer hear the metal hitting the plastic inside the bottle.
Once it’s ready, he folds in a spoonful of mascarpone cheese to achieve that signature creaminess. Instead of brewing espresso, he’s using another easy shortcut, reconstituted decaf instant coffee to dunk his ladyfingers in. He advises us only to leave them in this liquid for a brief moment, as the ladyfingers will absorb it quickly. Then, he layers the cream and the ladyfingers in a serving dish. He notes that in traditional tiramisu, chocolate powder would be sprinkled on top, but he didn’t have any available. Considering it’s a midnight snack, it might be best to skip that, anyway. Even though it may not follow traditional preparation methods, it looks every bit as delicious.
Variations of Tiramisu
There are several delicious ways to make this classic dessert. It’s tasty when prepared using pistachio, Nutella, orange, or lemon. Half Baked Harvest has a recipe that I love, where she prepares the most delightful strawberry tiramisu that can be easily adapted to other fruits and berries.
I’m glad Alex shared this clever idea. I can’t wait to try it the next time I get a sweet craving.
