TV host Trisha Goddard reveals her cancer has returned and is now incurable

After coming to terms with her diagnosis in private, TV presenter Trisha Goddard has revealed that she is undergoing life-prolonging treatment for incurable breast cancer.

The 66-year-old was diagnosed 19 months ago, after checks following a near fatal fall revealed that her breast cancer had returned and is now known as metastatic or stage four breast cancer.

Trisha was first diagnosed with cancer in 2008 which she successfully fought, however this time, she told Hello! there is no cure.

She said ‘[The cancer] is not going to go away and with that knowledge comes grief and fear. But I must keep enjoying what I have always enjoyed.’

Trisha, who appeared on Dancing on Ice in 2019, said she waited more than a year and a half before making the announcement, but she felt that the time was now right, and she hopes that the news doesn’t make people see her as frail.

Doctors discovered the cancerous cells as they were treating Trisha when she broke her thigh bone after a terrible fall in 2022. She was rushed to hospital ‘roaring in pain’ and in need of emergency surgery.

But she has also shared some happy news with fans in recent times too, announcing her engagement to a mystery man after a four year relationship.

Trisha said that her beau got down on one knee during a hiking trip and presented her with an engagement ring he bought for her.

It’s the first time a man has bought her any jewellery- including her previous engagements. She told The Sun ‘I’ve always bought my own engagement ring. He’s the first person to buy me any amount of jewellery. He gave me a friendship bracelet and a lovely Tiffany ring with a ‘T’ on it because he’d heard me say no one had ever bought me a ring. That was just for friendship.’
