Malayalee from India which released in theatres on May 1, 2024 opened to mixed reviews from critics. While some praised Nivin Pauly’s comic timing, others criticised the pace of the film.
According to a report by box office tracking website Sacnilk, Nivin Pauly’s film collected Rs 2.75 crore net from India on the opening day of its release. The film saw an overall 64.39% Malayalam occupancy. However, the film faced a slump on day 2 and 3 with earnings of Rs 1.3 crore net and 0.9 crore respectively.

On day 6, the film saw low earnings in comparison to how it performed on day 5. On Sunday, day 5, the film earned Rs 1.3 crore net, whereas it earned only Rs 0.46 crore on Monday, day 6. The film had an occupancy of 15 percent. The domestic earnings stand at Rs 7.96 crore net.
