Maidaan, the biographical sports drama starring Ajay Devgn, has made over Rs 47 crore during its 24-day run at the box office. After Shaitaan, this is Devgn’s second movie in 2024 which debuted on April’s Eid and competed with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Tiger Shroff and Akshay Kumar. The football drama is directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and its first day of sales was a letdown, bringing just Rs 4.5 crore. The movie’s revenue then fluctuated a little bit in the days that followed, but it stayed consistent overall.

According to early estimates, the movie earned Rs 1 crore on its 24th day at the box office. The movie had an overall Hindi occupancy of 15.83 per cent on Saturday. The audience turnover rate for the movie is 8.25 per cent for morning shows, 17.25 per cent for afternoon shows, 17.61 per cent for evening shows and 20.21 per cent for night shows.

Maidaan is a sports drama primarily based on football and about the legendary football coach Syed Abdul Rahim. The movie, directed by Amit Sharma also stars Ajay Devgn, Priyamani, Gajraj rao, among others. The film is a biography of the late Syed Abdul Rahim, who coached India football during the “golden era of Indian football” and enabled the squad to victory. It all started with an Olympic match in 1952 where Indian athletes had to play barefoot because of a terrible lack of resources, and it concluded with India’s victory at the Asian Games in 1962.
