Bills left tackle Dion Dawkins had some interesting words to say about Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in the lead up to Sunday night’s 27-24 home Divisional loss; which Mahomes certainly had the last word.
“They asked for it, and they got what they asked for,” Mahomes said inside the victorious Kansas City locker room.
Mahomes’ postgame taunt followed comments Thursday from Dawkins, wherein he wished Mahomes all the best in his first true road playoff game.
“[Mahomes has] only been here once,” Dawkins told reporters Thursday. “So he’s never been here. Simple as that.
“Pat has never been to the Bills stadium in full. …The environment will be different, and not to say it’s in our favor, but stadium is our favor. Stadium is us. That helps us. I don’t care what nobody says.
“This is the most dopest feeling I’ve ever had. We’re having two back-to-back playoff games home. Come on now, like we get to leave and go eat wings. It’s cool. So good luck.”

Turns out Mahomes and the Chiefs didn’t need luck as they marched into Highmark Stadium, and left with a win en route to their sixth-straight AFC Championship appearance.
After the game, Mahomes also fired a shot at Dawkins on Instagram, writing “good luck” as the caption of a celebratory photo.
Now, the Chiefs will have to shift their energy away from the Bills, and toward the top-seeded Baltimore Ravens — whose quarterback, Lamar Jackson, is set to join Mahomes and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers as the only active multi-time MVPs.
