Packers Sign Former First Round Pick In Free Agency

The Green Bay Packers signed offensive tackle Andre Dillard on Thursday.

Following an impressive combine performance, the Philadelphia Eagles drafted Dillard with the No. 22 pick in 2019. The former Washington State standout has struggled to establish himself in the NFL.

Dillard appeared in all 16 games as a rookie but played just 29 percent of the offense’s snaps with four starts. He looked poised to handle a full-time starting role before a biceps injury cost him the entire 2020 season.

Dillard returned to start five of 15 games in 2021, but he played just 37 snaps in 2022. He received scarce reps during Philadelphia’s Super Bowl run.

Out of a significant role in Philadelphia, he went to the Tennessee Titans.

A change of scenery afforded Dillard more playing time last season. He started 10 of 16 games while playing 56 percent of Tennessee’s snaps.

In those 562 snaps, Dillard committed five penalties and allowed 12 sacks and 41 pressures. The Titans finished a 6-11 season ranked 28th in total offense.

Dillard adds some depth to a depleted offensive line that may still require more attention this offseason.

After 11 seasons in Green Bay, David Bakhtiari’s Packers career appears finished. They also lost tackle Yosh Nijman in free agency to the Carolina Panthers, and starting guard Jon Runyan Jr. signed with the New York Giants.

Green Bay could continue to bolster its line during next week’s draft.
