Sadiq Khan was elected mayor of London for a third term as the Labour-backed incumbent managed to increase his vote share, even in certain outer borough areas where his Conservative opponent was anticipated to have stronger support.
Khan secured over a million votes, representing nearly 44% of the total vote, outperforming his main rival, the Conservative Party’s Susan Hall, by more than 11 percentage points. While he performed exceptionally well in inner London, Khan faced challenges in various outer boroughs.
