Era de esperarse que el régimen respondiera con la misma moneda a la tumultuosa marcha del pasado domingo, haciendo lo propio, pero teniendo como fondo la tradicional celebración del Día del Trabajo.

Como es lógico, allí estarán la gigantesca fronda burocrática, los enmermelados, los sindicatos, los maestros, las comunidades indígenas y, en fin, todo el aparataje oficial que concurrirá obligado, llevado por buses y chivas y un tamal trifásico –el de las tres carnes– y uno que otro suvenir.

Será, a no dudarlo, una medición de fuerzas en la que el dios dinero se retratará en las calles y en donde el oportunismo y la lagartería tendrán su muy importante cuota.

El régimen espera que haya más de los 250 mil manifestantes, como se atrevió a decir, cuando los cálculos más conservadores y objetivos sostienen que hubo allí más de un millón de colombianos. En Cali, por ejemplo, se habló de 40 mil personas siendo que se llegó a las 80 mil, con una concurrencia que solo recuerda la gran marcha contra las FARC, sin antecedentes en esta ciudad.

Y eso sin contar que las tales “250 mil almas” marcharon sin transporte, sin tamales, sin distingos sociales, sin directorios políticos, sin regalitos y sin las amenazas de que o iban o…, en un evento variopinto sin antecedentes en nuestro país.

No creo que la cifra de la marcha por la democracia vaya a ser superada por la marcha politizada del próximo miércoles, pero ya verán que, así como minimizaron aquella, exageraran con esta. ¿Medición de fuerzas? Que si resulta un fracaso sería, sino el comienzo del fin, al menos un campanazo de alerta para que nos reconciliemos los colombianos y tratemos, de consuno, de encontrar la cada vez más esquiva paz que todos queremos.
