Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs had a shot for a game-winning touchdown in the final few seconds of the fourth quarter in tonight’s Super Bowl 58 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
Mahomes elected to throw to Travis Kelce in the corner of the endzone, missing an opportunity to hit a wide-open Rashee Rice up the middle.
Rice was clearly upset he didn’t get the ball on the play. He and Mahomes went at it on the sideline after Harrison Butker hit the field goal to send it into overtime.
Rice, a second-round rookie, emerged as Patrick Mahomes’ No. 1 wide receiver target through his first NFL season. That being said, he wasn’t Mahomes’ No. 1 target on this particular play.
Rice reeled in four catches for 20 yards through regulation.
