KLCI breaks above 1,600 points for first time in two years
KUALA LUMPUR (May 7): Malaysia’s benchmark index FBM KLCI rose above 1,600 points for the first time in two years on Tuesday, as utilities and index-heavyweight banking stocks climbed.
The KLCI rose as much as 5.36 points or 0.3% to 1,602.75, its highest since May 5, 2022. YTL Corp Bhd rose 1.5% to RM3.39, leading gains among utilities, while AMMB Holdings Bhd edged up 0.7% to RM4.23 in the banking sector.
