There’s no doubt the Ohio State Buckeyes will be one of the best college football teams heading into the 2024 season. The only question will be who will be throwing their stable of NFL-caliber receivers. All five signal callers in the running for the starting job were available for the Ohio State Buckeyes Spring Game: Will Howard, Devin Brown, Lincoln Kienholz, Julian Sayin, and Air Noland.
Fox college football analyst Joel Klatt spent the Spring Game on the sideline at the Shoe interviewing head coach Ryan Day and other notable play callers. However, he said he wasn’t impressed when Julian Sayin stepped on the field.
“So far this spring Julian Sayin who transferred in from Alabama, he has impressed at the quarterback position. I didn’t think he played all that great [during the Spring Game] but it was a windy day and that’s a really good defense, so those two things you take with a grain of salt,” Klatt said on Monday’s episode of The Joel Klatt Show.
Sayin notably threw an interception on the final drive of the first half after a pair of questionable throws prior. The wind was noticeable as every quarterback seemed to have issues with underthrown passes on Saturday.
There’s still a lot of time between now and when the season starts. Klatt said he expects this team to come in at No. 1 or 2 in the initial AP poll once the season starts.
