Russian forces are deploying heavy armored vehicles to storm Ukrainian Armed Forces positions in the Bakhmut direction. The enemy is employing a creeping offensive, and the situation on this frontline segment resembles a “see-saw,” according to the officer of the press service of the 26th Artillery Brigade named after Roman Dashkevych, Oleg Kalashnikov.

“The weather conditions favor active assault actions by Russian forces. This encourages them to deploy combat armored vehicles. Very often, we see them using both infantry fighting vehicles and heavy tanks. Although infantry assault actions are also carried out – even without armored support. They have such a ‘mix’, but armored vehicles are used more. They also employ artillery and guided aviation bombs – constantly dropping them along our defensive line, not just on populated areas, as it was before,” he noted.

Commenting on the advancement of Russian troops, he called the situation “quite challenging.”

“Indeed, they are trying to advance and they have some successes. But it is impossible to say that these successes are quite radical. They have what is called a creeping offensive. Moreover, from time to time, we also conduct our counterattacking actions, meaning tactically we occupy their firing positions, knock them out of their positions. So, everything is quite unstable and resembles a see-saw,” the speaker added.

Frontline situation

Ukrainian troops repelled 32 enemy attacks in the Avdiivka direction, held positions, and repelled assaults by occupation forces in the Kherson direction. Aviation struck at 8 areas of enemy personnel concentration. In particular, on the Bakhmut direction, the Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled 28 attacks.

As noted by the Institute for the Study of War, the Ukrainian Armed Forces advanced to the south of Kreminna in the Luhansk region. In Donetsk region, the occupiers made slight progress near Chasiv Yar and established a small tactical foothold on the outskirts of Ocheretyne, near Avdiivka.
