Analysis: Brentford 1-4 Liverpool
Timothy Abraham, BBC Sport
Liverpool fans might have looked upon a trip to Brentford with a degree of trepidation given recent visits to the Gtech community stadium.
The Reds had drawn and lost on their last two visits and had not won there in the league since March 1938.
However, Jurgen Klopp’s men brushed aside any concerns to produce a confident display as they ran out 4-1 winners.
Although there’s no doubting the fact that this victory over the Bees came at a cost.
Klopp did not give a detailed prognois afterwards but it seems Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones could both be set for a spell on the sidelines.
Darwin Nunez looks to have been substituted at half-time as a precaution.
One of the positives of Liverpool’s season has been the emergence of a number of youngsters.
They are likely to be called upon again to plug the gaps in the next few weeks.
