House panel okays bill to amend Rice Tariffication Law
MANILA, Philippines: The House of Representatives’ Committee on Agriculture and Food on Tuesday approved the substitute bill that seeks to amend the Rice Tariffication Law.
The bill substituted House Bills 212, 405, 1562, 9030, and 9547.
In an interview last week, Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez told reporters that the House aims to cut the price of rice “by at least P10 or even P15… by having the NFA bring to the market affordable rice”.
NFA stands for National Food Authority.
