It started slow, but 2023 was a special season for the Green Bay Packers. Despite being incredibly young, they made it all the way to the playoffs, taking down the NFC’s No. 2 seed in the Dallas Cowboys. Now, their youth is developed and hungry for more.

Let’s take a look at the Packers’ schedule for the 2024 NFL season, including their strength of schedule, a record prediction, and a preview of their biggest matchups of the year.

Green Bay Packers’ Schedule and Opponents

The Packers’ exact schedule hasn’t been released yet, but their opponents have been for the 2024 season.

While we’ll keep waiting for the official NFL schedule release, here are all the teams they’ll play this season:

Home: Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers

Road: Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Rams, Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans

Packers’ Strength of Schedule

While the Packers have dominated the NFC North for most of recent memory, they finished third in the division in 2022, so they had a third-place schedule in 2023. Now, in 2024, they’ll face a tougher second-place.

According to PFN’s in-house metric, the Packers have the 20th-easiest schedule in 2024, or the 13th-hardest. They’ll have to deal with a new-and-improved Lions as well as sneaky rebuilding teams in the Bears and Vikings.

Packers Record Prediction: 11-6

Now that the Packers are a more experienced team, they shouldn’t be plagued again by a slow start like they had last season, which could be attributed to their youth. At DraftKings Sportsbook, their win total is currently at 10.5, although there is heavy juice on the under at -155.

Any Packers optimists could point to quarterback Jordan Love as a reason to bet the over on their win total this upcoming season. After a slow start in his first year as a starter, Love blossomed in the latter part of last season and looks to be Green Bay’s long-term answer at quarterback.

One challenge for the Packers is the strength of their division, with the Lions being NFC contenders, the Bears potentially being a team on the rise, and the Vikings hoping to bounce back after an injury-riddled season.

Nevertheless, the Bears have the talent to build on their success last year, which is why I predict they’ll have an even better season in 2024.

Biggest Matchups of the Year

Going into 2024, the Packers have a plethora of big-time matchups that the entire league will be watching. From international travel to young quarterback battles, their schedule has it all.

First up is their season opener on Friday night of Week 1, when they’ll head down to Brazil to face the Eagles. It will mark the first time the NFL has played a game in South America and will also be a showdown between Love and Jalen Hurts, two of the best quarterbacks in the NFC.

Another fun quarterback battle will be between Love and another quarterback in their second season as a starter. The Packers will host the Texans, who have C.J. Stroud leading the way. The Texans and Packers both broke onto the scene in 2023 and will likely bring their fire into 2024.

And the Packers will have a chance at revenge, too. The 49ers, who took down the Packers in the NFC Divisional Round last season, will travel to Green Bay. If things go how the Packers want, it could be a pivotal game in the NFC playoff seeding battle.

Finally, an underrated big matchup on the Packers’ schedule is when they travel down to Jacksonville, Fla., to face the Jaguars. In 2023, the Jaguars started 8-3 but ended up missing the playoffs. However, with quarterback Trevor Lawrence back healthy and some new additions made, they could make for a fun matchup with Green Bay.
