The Great Irish Fair of New York takes place on September 14
The Great Irish Fair of New York has announced its return date and has given people a taste of what they can expect from the 2024 edition of the annual event. Organized by the Irish American Building Society, the Great Irish Fair represents Irish culture in the borough of Brooklyn.
The Great Irish Fair of New York takes place on Saturday, September 14, in the Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Park Slope, Brooklyn. An exact location is yet to be announced. Organizers of the event announced its return on the official Instagram account with clips of live Irish music, dancing, and craic from previous fairs.
The first Great Irish Fair was held underneath the Brooklyn Bridge in 1981. Vendors lined the streets as attendees enjoyed live Irish music.
Earlier this year, Irish American Building Society Board Members Thomas Flood, Mary Glynn, and Kieran McGirl were presented with a check of $25,000.00 from Investors Bank to help continue the mission of the Great Irish Fair.
The check was presented to the Irish American Building Society at the New York City Irish Hunger Memorial.
One ticket to the Great Irish Fair of New York will get you access to enjoy the live music, dancing, and vendors at the fair. Details will soon be announced about the lineup.
“We are still working on our musical lineup and wanted to ask, what bands would you like to see at this year’s Great Irish Fair of New York?” organizers said in a social media post.
The Great Irish Fair of New York is one of many Irish festivals happening over the summer months this year in the state of New York. Also taking place are the Rockaway Beach Irish Fest and the Rockland Irish Music Festival.
