Golfing day out to raise funds for Wicklow boy Alex (4)

A special golfing fundraiser will take place at Druids Glen Golf Club in aid of a Wicklow family whose son has a rare brain injury called Periventricular Leukomalacia or PVL.

Alex Dunne turned four in January and a DIY SOS-style plea has been launched to help Alex’s parents Cliona and Dave to modify the family home to meet his highly-complex needs.

A ‘Drive, Dine, Donate’ day takes place at Druids Glen Golf Resort on Friday, May 17, starting from 1pm.

You can enter or sponsor a team of four, with lunch and registration taking place at 1pm. The cost to enter per team is €1,500 and that includes lunch and dinner.

Dinner and entertainment also takes place in the evening, costing €100 per person for those who only want to take part in the evening events.

Anyone who can’t make the event could instead sponsor a tee box for €500, a green for €200 or a table of ten for €1,000. There are also opportunities for platinum event sponsors, €4,000, gold event sponsors, €3,000, and silver event sponsorship, €2,000.
