A 13-year-old girl accused of stabbing three people at a school in West Wales has been remanded to youth detention accommodation.

Three people were treated in hospital for stab wounds but have now been released following the incident on Wednesday.
The suspect, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Friday charged with three counts of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article on a school premises.

Amman Valley School, also known as Ysgol Dyffryn Aman, in Carmarthenshire, went into lockdown just after 11.20am on Wednesday after the stabbing at the end of the morning break.
After a “code red” alarm sounded students and staff are said to have hidden in classrooms, with one pupil reportedly vaulting the school fence to get to safety.
The lockdown lasted around four hours, between 11.20am and 3.20pm, leaving parents waiting anxiously before they could hug their children as they walked through the gates.

The school, which is in the town of Ammanford, is a comprehensive with around 1,500 students aged between 11 and 18.
The accused teenager will next appear at Swansea Crown Court on 27 May.
