On Friday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.4% to 38627.99, the S&P 500 slid 0.5% to 5005.57, and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 0.8% to 15775.65.

Is the Stock Market Open on Presidents Day 2024?
The New York Stock Exchange, the Nasdaq Stock Market, over-the-counter markets, and bond markets will be closed on Monday. Stock markets and bond markets reopen at 9:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. on Tuesday, respectively.
What About International Markets? Will They Be Open?
The Tokyo Stock Exchange, the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the London Stock Exchange, the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, the Euronext Paris, and the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong will be open on Monday.
Are Banks and the Post Office Open?
Federal Reserve Banks and the U.S. Postal Service will be closed on Monday, while private carriers FedEx and UPS will be open.

Presidents Day is a United States federal holiday celebrated annually on the third Monday of February to honor the first president, George Washington, who was born on Feb. 22, 1732. It’s also become a day to celebrate Abraham Lincoln, the sixteenth president of the U.S., who was born Feb. 12, 1809.
