Game sorgt für Wirbel: Ist "Stellar Blade" sexistisch?

Das neue Spiel “Stellar Blade” sorgt im Netz für Furore. Diskutiert wird aber nicht das Gameplay, sondern die Darstellung der Hauptfigur Eve.

Pixelschönheiten wie Lara Croft haben den Gamern schon vor mittlerweile 30 Jahren den Kopf verdreht. In den letzten Jahren hat sich im Gaminguniversum zwar verändert und Frauenfiguren traten nicht mehr, wie meist, nur als Handlanger und Nebencharaktere in Spielen auf, doch die Darstellung von ihnen scheint sich nicht immens weiterentwickelt zu haben. Üppige Rundungen, Schmollmund und eine wallende Mähne sind auch das, was einem bei Eve – der Hauptfigur des neuen PS5-Games “Stellar Blade” (erhältlich ab 26.4.) – sofort ins Auge stechen, doch das scheint nicht bei allen gut anzukommen.

Denn bevor das Spiel überhaupt am Markt erhältlich ist, sorgt es bereits für Wirbel. Zu sexistisch sei die Darstellung der Protagonistin Eve, ihr Aussehen stehe zu sehr im Fokus, die Reduzierung auf ihre Rundungen sei anmaßend, meint die eine Seite. Auch die Outfits, die man für die Protagonistin des SciFi-Games auswählen kann, würden zu viel nackte Haut zeigen. Die anderen Gamer sehen darin aber gar kein Problem.

Doch die Effekthascherei wäre gar nicht nötig gewesen: Denn das Gameplay könnte sich auch ganz gut ohne erotische Darstellung sehen lassen. In dem Actionspiel sind die Nahkämpfe derart ausgeklügelt, dass sie an die erfolggekrönt “Dark Souls”-Reihe erinnern. In einem relativ geradlinigen Spielverlauf, der zwar keine Open-World-Map beinhaltet, sind es vor allem die intensiven und schnellen Kampfszenen, die überzeugen.

Als Eve nach der Übernahme von grausligen Kreaturen zur verwüsteten Erde zurückkehrt, hat sie genau eine Mission: Die Menschheit zu retten. Ob sie dabei wirklich halbnackt sein muss, müssen wohl die Gamingfans klären…
